PHOSPHATE STEAMER DELAYED [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, June 14. Conditions ‘ equally as bad as those encountered by the Ruahino on Tuesday night were experienced by the steamer Antonio, which reached port to-day with phosphates from Ocean Island. The full force of the southeasterly gale was felt by the steamer from about 8 p.m. on Tuesday until 10.60 a.m. the, following day, and during the whole of that time she was hovo-to about fifty miles off Cape Brett. The officers of the vessel stated that the gale was one of the worst they had encountered in New Zealand waters. Huge seas broke over the vessel’s bows almost continuously, but although a considerable amount of water was shipped no damage was done and no one was injured.
