WITH THE DOGS

FANCIERS' CLUB SHOW GOOD ENTRIES IN MOST SECTIONS The two judges of the dog sections at the Dunedin Fanciers’ Club annual show had a particularly, busy time today, when they were called upon to adjudicate on the merits of the exhibits paraded before ’ them. The entries, numbering about 140, were slightly less than those of last year, but were well up on those of the previous few years. The judging extended till the afternoon, and some of the comment was withheld until the completion. However, Mr F. W. Pnllard, of Christchurch, who judged all the terriers, remarked that generally speaking there was a good deal of room for improvement in the sections judged by him. One of the most popular breeds—the wire-haired terrier—was absent altogether. The Airedales benched were quite impressive, and were typical of the species. The Scotties were also quite good. The cats and children’s pets were also judged, the judge stating that the cat section generally was disappointing, although there were one or two nice kittens shown. These would develop into good cats. The best cat in the show was a line sample of a silver tabby. THE PRIZE LIST Awards were made as follows; DOGS. Judges: Mr F. W.
