PRISONERS LEARN FIRST AID
FIRST GLASS IN DOMINION [Pkk United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, June 13. A first aid class comprising eighteen of the younger men has been instituted at the Mount Eden Prison by tbo Discharged Prisoners’ Aid Society and the St. John Ambulance Association. Jt is proposed to hold classes for an hour one night a week for about ten weeks, after which examinations will be held and certificates awarded to those who pass. Lectures will be given by the district surgeon of the St. John Ambulance. “ The enthusiasm displayed by the members of what is the first prison first aid class in the dominion is remarkable,” said the Rev, G. E. Moreton. secretary of the Discharged Prisoners’ Aid Society. “ The vocational aspect of tho training the men will receive is particularly welcomed by the society.”
