COLD STORAGE BUILDING

The erection of a new cold storage building at the approach to King’s wharf at a total cost of £30,000 is at present receiving the consideration of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company Ltd., which has written. to the Auckland Harbour Board seeking the granting of fresh leases in connection with property field in that locality. The letter stated that the Board of Direm tors of the company wished to erect another ■ building, . but. considered it would not he justified hi so doing unless the Harbour Board agreed to the cancellation of the present leases and tfie issue of a longer tenure. The site that will be covered by the proposed building .is 108 ft in . depth, with an average width of 61ft 6m, The estimated cost of the building, winch wjll consist of the ground floor and. five, stories constructed in steel and concrete,’ with brick curtains, will be, £20,01X1. The cork insulation will cost £5,000, and the conveyor lifts and battery £5,000. . ' The application for the issue of fresh leases was referred to the board in commitfeo, __________
