PERSON TO PERSON GALLS
NEW TYPE OF TOLL SERVICE fPr.R United Press Association'.] WELLINGTON, June 13. The Postmaster-General announces that the new type of toll service, known as person to person calls, will be available to subscribers as from Monday next. The service is not intended to supplant the present station to station calls, but will bo complementary to that type of service. The essentia! purpose of the innovation is to provide subscribers with the facility of naming the specific persons with whom.it is desired to hold a conversation, or, on the other hand, to nominate a substitute for the required persons. The time of duration of the call will not commence till the actual caller and the specific person required engage in a conversation. No charge will be made when failure to complete the call is due to some cause within the control of the department.
