ARBITRATION COURT

The Arbitration Court met in Wellington to-day under the presidency of Mr Justice Blair, who, replying to Mr O’Regan, said he‘ was unable to say when the court would sit at Palmerston North, Wanganui, or Namier. The court gave judgment by consent in the case in which Leslie Ayling, a waterside worker, ‘ claimed compensation from Holm and Co., owners of the steamer Abel‘Tasman,;for injuries received to his back when he fell off a sling-of sleepers on January 23. Ha had received compensation till February 14; at the rate of £2 18s 8d weekly) hut ’claimed more, and under the judgment he receives the same amount from February 14 to date of the advance payments, equal to two months’_ compensation and the expenses of medical witnesses.
