COMPENSATION AND ARBITRATION. Requests for amendments to the Workers’ Compensation Act, the Apprentices Act, and the Arbitration Act Vere made by a Wellington Trades and Labour Council deputation to Mr Forbes and Mr Hamilton ■ to-day. The deputation asked that the Arbitration Court bo again made accessible to the workers, as hitherto; that a 35-hour week be enacted; that the half* hour of-daylight saving apply, the , whole year. Mr Forbes replied that the requests would bo considered, and that appropriate action would be taken if the Govern- : ment found employers taking advantage of the Existing legislation to sweat employees, as alleged.— Press Association.
