SHIPOWNERS HIT
NO WOOL CARGOES POSTPONED AUSTRALIAN SALES Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, June 11. (Received June 11, at 11 a.m.) The postponement of the wool sales has created difficulties for the oversea ship owners who have ships waiting to lift wool. The chairman of the Oversea Shipping Representatives’ Association (Mr E. A. Eva), in a statement, said that the oversea ship owner who' had to look ahead and cater for Australia’s requirements was going to be badly hit. The outward voyage of ships which carried little or ho. cargo was a loss, and the homeward voyage would probably be a fiasco. [A previous message stated: All the wool sales, which would normally have been held this month in Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide, will be abandoned. The National Council of Wool Selling Brokers’ official statement says that m view of the present position of the wool market the Australian Woolgrowers’ Council and the National Council, after conferring with all centres, have, in the best interests of the industry, decided to postpone all wool sales this month.]
