SUNDAY ENTERTAINMENTS.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —in answer to “ Liberty’s ” letter on the above 1 would like to say 1 know of several citizens who are very glad indeed that the council has at last permitted the above. I hardly think “ Liberty’s ” effusion shows the broad- 4 ness of outlook one would expect from his non-de-plume. Regarding his argument as to employing labour for ticket sellers, etc., that hardly holds good. Do we not employ motormen and conductors for trains and buses, and many others one could name who are only too glad to earn an honest penny by extra work? I would have.” Liberty ” realise it is ; not all the church-going which produces real Christianity.. Some of the kindest-hearted people never attend church, from reasons best, known to themselves, but they still believe in a hereafter and behave as Christians by “judging not.” If our Lord came to earth again ho would still find many Pharisees. —I am, etc., Live and Let" Live.
