UNEMPLOYED DISTRICT COUNCIL.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —I read a report in last Tuesday’s ‘ Star ’ of a meeting of the Unemployed District Council. Could you tell me. of whom it is composed and what is its policy? Are any of the local Unemployment Committee members of this newly-formed council ? In my opinion, there are far too many of these committees and councils. 1 consider it a waste of public money without getting anywhere. Just consider the different committees, etc., that are operating—the Unemployment Board, Unemployment Committee, and now we have another, the Unemployed District Council. Has the world gone crazy? 1 would deem it a favour if you oxsome of your readers could enlighten me on this particular subject.—l am, etc., ’ Ignorant. June 9.
