MORAY PLACE CHOIR

At Moray Place Congregational Church last evening a rendering of Mozart’s Twelfth Mass was given by the choir. This sacred work was given very full treatment almost throughout. The opening, ‘ I Will Call Upon the Lord.' was very satisfying, while in the well-known ‘ Gloria,’ which was spiritedly sung; the sopranos obtained brilliant effects. The remainder of the choir work, although less dynamic, was responsible for a more devotional atmosphere. The quartet soloists, Misses O. Campbell, M. Green, Messrs Vernon Smith, and J. D. M'Kechnie, acquitted themselves with credit, and their best wbrk was probably in the beautiful opening of the ‘ Sanctus.’ The choir was under the able direction of Mr Alfred Walmsley, and the organ accompaniment provided by Mrs H. C. Campbell contributed a lai’ge share to a satisfying performance of this melodious work.
