ST. CLAIR CLUB
F. V. DRAKE WINS CHAMPIONSHIP For the final of the St. Clair Club’s championship, which was contested by D. C. • Bennie and F. V. Drake over thirty-six holes during the week-end, the conditions were not all conducive to a high standard of play. The match was closely contested, however, bogey figures being recorded by both players over the second half of the first round, which finished 1 up in Bennie’s favour. In the second round Drake was playing very steadily, while Bennie was inclined to be uncertain with his putts. Drake secured a lead of 1 up at the fifteenth, and held the advantage until the last green was reached, thus winning the match by 1 up.
