MOANA TAMA WINS SAPLING STAKES The Ashburton Trotting Club’s Meeting was opened in fair but chilly weather, but after the fourth race heavy rain, hail, and sleet made the conditions bad. There was a large attendance. The course was slightly holding at the start, and a quagmire at the finish. The totalisator handled £10,866, as against £14,855 10s last year.
