SUNDAY SERVICES

The Rev. W. Allen Stevely will conduct both services at First Church. The morning subject will be ‘ Saved to Serve,’ and the evening ‘ Towards Dawn ’ Dr V. E. Galway will be the organist. Anniversary services will be held in Knox Church, when the Rev. Llewellyn Williams, of Chalmers Church, Timaru, will bo the preacher. A retiring offering will be received for debt reduction.

To-morrow will be observed as Missionary Sunday at the Maori Hill Presbyterian Church. The services will bo. conducted by the Rev. A. C. W. Standage, and Mr W. Paget Gale will be at the organ. The sixty-third anniversary of St. Stephen’s Church will be observed with special services. Dr John M. Laird will be the preacher at the faiorning Service, and , the'Rev. Thomas Miller in the evening. As the centenary of the birth of the famous Charles Haddon Spurgeon will shortly take place, and will be celebrated throughout the world, the evening subject will be Spurgeon, Greatest of Preachers. The Rev. R. T. Dodds will conduct both servi.oes at the South Dunedin Presbyterian Church. In the evening the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be observed. ' 'Youth Sunday will be observed at Trinity Methodist Church. Bible class members will conduct the morning service, Mr S. Wait being the preachter, and the Bible class choir rendering appropriate music. In the evening the Rev. C. it. Ulus will take as his subject ‘ The Boomerang. Mrs W. J. White will, sing God Give You Joy.’ The anthem will be The Sun Shall Be No More.’ . The services at the Methodist Central Mission will bo conducted in the morning bv Mr lan Dickson, of Knox College, and at 6.30 p.m. by the Rev L. B. Neale, whose subject will be 'Acrophobia. The soloist will be Mr Roland Dunbar. Youth Sunday services will be observed. At the St. Kilda Methodist Church the morning service will be conducted by Mr \rthur Thompson, and in the evening the preacher will be the Rev. Percy Pans The services at Dundas Street Methodist Church will be conducted by Rev. Percy Cooke. Youth service in the morning. Evening subject, ‘The Challenge.’ Solo, Mr A. E. Brown; anthem. Rev E. S. Tuckwell will conduct both services at the Hanover Street Baptist Church. The evening subject will bo ‘ Frustrating the Purposes of God.’ The anthem will be ' O Father, by Whose Almighty Power.’ First Church of Christ Scientist w>H conduct services in Allbell Chambers, 154 Stuart street. The subject for the morning and evening services will be * God the Only Cause and Creator.’

At the TKeosophical Society there will be a lantern lecture by Mr J. M. MEwaa entitled ’ Adyar, the Beautiful Head* quarters of the Society.’ _ , • Sister Lingwood-Smith will speak at th« Spiritualist Church in the ‘ Modern Spiritualism and the Bible, ana will give personal spiritual messages after the address. She also present tha prizes at the Lyceum in the . afternoon. The Rev. Albert Mead will conduct .th* services at the Moray Place Congregational Church. The addresses, morning and evening respectively, will be on ’ The Message of the Acts of the Apostles’ and How to Enjoy the Bible.’ Miss Phyllis Clare will sing ‘ The Perfect Prayer ’ at the evening service. A rendition of Mozart s IZtii Mass ’ will he given by the choir, commencing at 8 p.m.
