(Received April 3, at 11.10 a.m.) The Attorney-General states that the postponement of the New Orleans I’m Alone hearing is duo to the request ot the Justice Department to permit time for further inquiries. ' it is asserted that the department will not drop- the prosecution of the I’m Alone’s captain and crew unless the investigation now under way fails to disclose any evidence of violation of tho law. It is added iliac the department’s complete report on the coastguards’ pursuit ot the vessel and Dio finding of the legality of the sinking would be transmitted to the State Department within twenty-four hours.—Australian Press Association. Tho depositions of Ihe crew and others in connection with the sinking of the Canadian schooner I’m Alone have now been received in London through the Consul-General at New Orleans and the British Ambassador at M'ashinglon. ’They are being considered by tbo British Government and also by tho Canadian Government, whoso Minister in M’ashington will, in dealing with the act in close consultation vith tho British Ambassador.
