CIVIL SERVICE HARRIERS
At the animal general meeting of the above club Mr A. M civil Jo presided over a good attendance. In moving the adoption of the annual report the president said that the past season had been a most enjoyable one from all sides, and the former high standard of co-operation and goodiellovrship among members had been maintained. He referred in feeling terms to the death of Alexander Jeffrey, a member who lost his life by drowning at the Quarantine Island yachting accident. Two of their best athletes had left Dunedin in Olsen and Barnes, whose loss was a severe one. The reivort was adopted. The electiqn of ollicc-bcarers 'resulted:—Patrons, Sir E. S. It was unanimously decided tljofc the office of club captain be a rolling one.
Mr Lcthaby was empowered to obtain a new javelin shall. The annua! subscription was fixed at las for seniors and 12s 6d for juniors, this to include entry fees for all club races, also registration and capitation fees, and to be reducible to 12s tin and 10s respectively if paid before the first Saturday in July of each year. The trophies won at the recent club track championships were then presented. Several new members were elected, and the opening run was fixed for April 0 at St. Clair Baths, run not to count for badge. By a unanimous vote it as decided to write the University Club congratulating it on winning the List Shield.
