LORD MONTAGUE OF BEAULIEU Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, March 30. The death of Lord Montague of Beaulieu is announced at the age of sixtytwo years.—Australian Press Associa-tion-United Service. [John Walter Edward Douglas-Scolt-Montagno, the second baron Montague of Beaulieu, was born on June 10, 1866, and was educated at Eton and Now College, Oxford. Ho was prominent in athletics, engineering, and science at Eton and Oxford, and stroked the winning college eight in 1837. He travelled extensively, visiting America, Japan, China, India, Egypt, and South Africa. He was interested in aviation, railway, and all transport matters, and also in sport. Ho was the founder and for a time editor of the ‘ Car,’ and also wrote numerous magazine and Press articles. From IDIo till 1919 lie was advisor on mechanical transport services for the Government of India. Tlio heir to the title is Edward John Barrington Douglas-Scott-Montague, who was born on October 2U, 1926.]
