He returned to his home at lielleknowes on .Monday of this week from the biennial session of the order at Nelson, and at the time seemed to he normal as to health, hut on Wednesday he became so ill that immediate attention hy a surgeon was necessary, and he died ye.slerdav at about I p.m. 'I lie announcement will ho read hy his many friends and brethren with surprise and deep concern, for Mr ’Will <in.-■on was not merely an exceptionally capable accountant, lint a great worker, with a keen sense of doty, and personally a most likeable man. lie was horn in London and arrived in Auckland thirty years a no. Me came to Dunedin in IDI I, having been appointed as accountant in thr.r office of the Grand Lodge. 1.0.0. the late Air William Reid being then Grand Secretary. When Mr Reid resigned in 1922 Air Wilkinson was elected to the position. Me was also a member of the Masonic order and of the A1.E.T.0.0.F. and Loyal Orange Society, and lion, auditor of the Dunedin Shakespeare Club. Airs Wilkinson survives her husband. and there arc three married daughters and one sou (Mr Allred AVilkinson. of the local Telegraph Office). The eldest son, Frederick George, died in 19J8 at Auckland, whore the’ father is to be interred.
