SWIMMING A fast and exciting race between teams from the Christchurch 1< ootball and the local Pirates Football Chib was held at the Municipal Swimming Baths this morning. The teams were as follows Christchurch : R. B. Soanes, F. Alenzies, A. Stewart, and C. Conldwell. Pirates: A. Hnrrod, u. Noble, S Paris, and W. Boyd. Down the first length Sonnes and Harrod fought out a good race, but the latter managed to hand over to Noble with a yard to sparc._ Noble retained the lead, which Paris increased by several yards during the third length. When Boyd and Conldwell took over for the final, lap Pirates were seen to be well in the lead, and Boyd easing up, iinished well ahead of his opponent, who, however, came up well over the final stages.
