BIS INVERCARGILL CARNIVAL [From Our Own Kecokteh.'J INVERCARGILL, March 2G. Arrangements nro practically completed for a monster swimming carnival here on Saturday night, April G, at which several of Otago’s best-known swimmers and divers will compete. The fixture will be under the control of the Baths Committee, and should create much interest, especially the display of plain, fancy, and stunt diving by tho Dunedin Club’s inimitable pair, Roy Calder (New Zealand men's diving champion) and Mick Walker (rnn-uer-up). This pair will also compete in free style swimming cvente. Reg. Geddcs, Now Zealand 75yds breast-stroke and 100yds junior hoys’ champion, will appear in invitation scratch races for boys under sixteen, in tho 7.syds breast-stroke, and the 1015yds free style; and the Kiwi .youngster has also entered for the open breast-stroke and free style handicaps. Mr J. L. M‘lndoe, president of the Otago Swimming Centro, will give an exhibition in Die long plunge, and also take part in the breast-stroke and free stylo swimming events, C. B. Lewis, Otago and ex-New Zealand 220yds breast-stroke champion, is entered Tor the KlOvds breast-stroke and free style handicaps, and several other well-known Dunedin swimmers will be taking part; while a polo match will ho played between Southland and an Otago team. It is probable that Calder and Walker will bo asked to judge the plain diving events.
