SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS The South Island championship tournament, to bo held here at Easter, should provide the. public with some of the best exhibitions of lawn tennis seen in the city. An excellent entry has been secured for this tournament, and many of the leading players in the dominion are taking part, including such players as C. Drew, holders of the New Zealand junior doubles championship; Airs Scott, holder of New Zealand titles on several occasions; D. C. Johnston, one of Canterbury's leading players; A. J. Deakcr, runner-up in the Otago singles championship; Miss Gibson one of the leading plavcrs in South Gantcrburv; M i.-.s Romans, of North Otago: and several other prominent. visiting players. ?
