FOR LONDON

m WILFORD TO BE HIGH COMMISSIONER [Special to the 4 Stab. 4 ! WELLINGTON, March 25. Tin; 3-lon. T. M. Wilford will be the next High Commissioner representing the dominion in London. The term of appointment of Sir James Parr expires, in August next. It is understood that Mr Wilford will leave for England shortly after the opening of the next session of Parliament. The appointment, which is unlikely to be announced for some time, opens up interesting possibilities. The resignation of Mr Wilford means that Labour, which during the last two elections has chosen Mr Walter Nash, national secretary of the party, to contest the Unit seat, will have an excellent chance of gaining another member. It also moans, of course, that a new Minister of Justice and .Defence will have to be appointed. For this Colonel T. W. M'Donald, who defeated the Hon. A. D. M'Lcod in tbo Wairarapa, is considered a possibility.
