A trade, agreement between Canada and Newfoundland was readied at a recent conference 'here with the Premier f Sir Richard Squires). The Minister of Finance (Mr Robb) said in the House to-day that, a year ago an agreement was reached giving Canada most favoured nation treatment, including preference. It was also arranged that the Canadian Trade and Commerce Department .should snlisidi.se a steamship mail service. An Order in Council was put through in Newfoundland, and corresponding legislation was effected in Canada later. A difference of opinion was straightened out during Sir Richard Squires's visit.-—Australian Press Association-United Service.
