BAG SNATCHER FOILED [Per Umisd Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, March 25. ’Throwing a bag of pepper into the face of George Finney, a well-known tobacconist, and momentarily blinding him, a man endeavoured to secure Ihe bag which Finney was carrying, walking down Slater street, Shirley, on Friday evening. Finney upset his assailant’s calculations by retaining bis hold on the bag, chasing him, and .shouting tor the police. The man escaped on a bicycle, which lie bad left some distance down ilie road. The police are investigating.
