OTAGO DEFEATS NORTH OTAGP Tlie representative lawn tennis match between Otago and North Otago was concluded ,on Saturday, and ended in a comfortable win for the local players. The match was a triumph tor the visiting ladies, all except one winning their matches. M'Dongall played a steady, clever game, and accounted for Sumpter without much trouble. . . Effective smashing and good driving accounted for M'Dongall and Miss TattisonV victory over Sumpter and Miss Manchester. Following are the additional scores: MEN’S SINGLES. The men's doubles. More won by E. and P. Howell, who beat Tnkere and J’otao (Wanganui). 7- 8-6, 6-2. In the ladies’ singles, .Miss D. Newton (Waikato) beat .Mrs Swan (Gisborne), 6-1, 6-4. In ibc ladies’ doubles Misses Newton and Rnkutni beat Mrs Swan and Miss ’I e, t a. 7-5, 6-3. The Maruniarn Cup, for the best aggregate by tribe members in the championships, was mud by the Arawa Club (Rotorua).
