GRUESOME DISCOVERIES
A WOMAN MURDERED BODY FOUND IN PARK Pr*a» Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, SYDNEY, March 22. A gruesome discovery was made on a. flower bed in Hyde Dark, in tho centre of tho city to-day, a woman’s dead body, with the hands tied behind the back, was found. The features were, distorted, and there was a wound over the left eye. The city coroner viewed the body before its removal. A post mortem examination revealed that tho woman had been strangled or smothered overnight. Sin; has been identified as Vera Stirling, with a number of aliases, who regularly slept in the parks. The police express the opinion that the woman was probably outraged and then murdered. Another ghastly discovery was made in a different part of the city. ’Tho bodies of two newly-born babies (a boy and a girl) were found in a garbage tin. A pedestrian who was passing saw a baby’s limb protruding from a parcel, and lie called the police, who unwrapped the covering and disclosed the bodies.
