Klotz is responsible for bis actions. His removal to Sante Prison is expected, but counsel is demanding a second opinion.—Australian Press Association. [M. Klotz, a brilliant lawyer, a financial expert, an ex-Ministcr, and a signatory of the Versailles Treaty, was recently taken to a mental home. The newspapers stated that it was tho result of unfortunate financial transactions and heavy gambling. M. Klotz for some time seemed to have lost his sense of the value of money. He gambled for high stakes at a seaside-casino, and paid with cheques which were dishonoured. The Paris correspondent of the ‘ Daily Chronicle ’ stated that Klotz lost 200,000 francs at La Tonuet in the late summer, and subsequent gambling losses brought up tho total to 8,000,000 francs.]
