MINISTER TAKES HIGH GROUND WHAT THE GDVERKMENT WILL DO [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, December 24. 'the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy (Minister of Health) stated at a gathering of his constituents on Saturday evening that lie regarded his elevation to Cabinet rank as a- Divine call to service, and would go forward with supreme confidence. There were great things to be done, and ho was confident that he would be able to do much in assisting those stricken with physical or mental disease. Replying to criticism that the Government lacked a policy, ho said the Premier had already made, two millions available for various purposes, and had promised to wipe out the arrears of advances to settlers and others. He had put a stop to men being put off their properties hy the State Advances Department. Sir. Joseph 1 U ard had said that in future no .man would be turned out of his home without the case lirst being submitted to the Government.
