BRITISH LABOUR PARTY PREPARATIONS FOE NEXT ELECTION. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, December 23. The ‘ Sunday Express ’ features a report' by its specia’l lobbyist that the Labour Party at the next election will make a spectacular bid far power, making the Plain plank of its platform a scheme to tranl'er 250,000 unemployed men, with their families, to the dominions. It is stated; “ The men have been given a definite pledge of lucrative employment if the proposal takes practical shape, and the party will receive powerful financial support, and the wholehearted advocacy of some of the, most influential publicists. Free passages for the whole of the migrants will ho paid by the British Government. There will be agreements between the British Government and the dominion Governments fixing the minimum wages, the Governments bearing any' loss the scheme may necessitate. A strong and popular leader willing to stake his career on carrying it nut is required. Nobody expects Mr MacDonald to take the hazard, and it is suggested that Mr J. \V. Thomas might see therein an opportunity for the Prime Ministership.—Australian Dress Association.
