ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
SUICIDES. An unknown man, poorly clad, jumped into a boiling lake at Whaka (Rotorua) at J p.m. yesterday before the horrified spectators. The police and the Maori caretaker were soon on the spot with grappling irons, and the body was recovered alter it had been in the water an hour and a-half. The deceased’s age appeared to bo about fifty-five, height sft 10in, and of medium build. —Press Association. At the inquest at Wellington concerning the death of Melvillo Vood, aged eighteen years, who was killed on Wednesday evening through jumping from the aerial tower of the Wellington Broadcasting Station, 2YA, on Mount Victoria the verdict was to tho effec(t that the deceased died from injuries rceived through jumping from a wireless mast while in a state of mental depression caused by an attack extreme mental depression caused by an attack of meningitis.—Press Association.
At the inquest on Harry Duncan Morton, -who was found diowned in Napier Harbour yesterday, a verdict of suicide while temporarily insane was returned. —Pr essAsso ci at i o 11 .
