MAGANDREW BAY NOTES

[From Our Own Correspondent.] With reference to the memorial service at Quarantine Island (concerning the recent accident) arranged by the members of the North-east Harbour Boating Club, of whom the deceased were members, it is the wish of the members that this impressive service Iks attended by all aquatic sports of the harbour. Already intimations of participation in the service have been received from various members of sister clubs, and as these are (fortunately), rare proceedings in the aquatic sport it is probably an opportune time to give a lead to those who are not too famuiar with the correct procedure adopted <m such occasions. The procession will commence at Macandrew’s Bay at 2.15 on Sunday next, the commodore (Mr E. A. Gibson), in his launch Marata, leading the procession via the eastern channel to Portobello to pick up the minister officiating, the Rev. W. M‘Arthur. As the procession from this point will have entered the confines of the disaster it is necessary, at the commodore’s guidance, to hoist Hags to half-mast. The line of procession from here will be Jed by Commodore Gibson, immediately followed by the respective commodore* of other clubs, with other craft in file until arrival at the scene of service, when the craft will form a circle prior to its commencement.
