RAVENSBOURNE BOATING CLUB. The Ravensbourne Boating Club held its first races of the season on Saturday afternoon., It was an ideal day for sailing, the competing yaehls_ making a fine spectacle in tho lull-sail northeast wind. There were live starters in the general handicap race lor yachts. The boats were sent away at 3 p.rii. m tho following order; —Minnow, Eileen (skimmer), Eileen (14-lootcr), Winifred, and May. Qn tho run to tho Three Legs channel mark tho skimmer Eileen assumed tho lead and rounded tho mark about 30sec ahead of Minnow. The latter was closely followed by Eileen (14-fooler). Then came Winifred and May. On tho heat to Challis’s buoy Eileen (skimmer) did iiot sail so well, and was passed by Minnow and tho other Eileen. The leading boats kept well together, and Minnow rounded tho buoy first, followed by tho 14-footcr Eileen about half a niinutc later. Tho skimmer Eileen rounded about 1 miu 30sec after Minnow. Winifred was only several lengths astern. On the run back to the Three Legs the skimmer Eileen overhauled her namesake and also Minnow. Tho skimmer rounded the Three Legs first, followed by Minnow about liOscc later, and tbo 14-footer Eileen cam© next. The Sanders Cup challenger and Minnow sailed well on the boat 1o tho finishing lino. Minnow was first across tho line, followed by the skimmer Eileen and the 14-footor Eileen, with Winifred close up, while May was somo distance astern. 'The official sailing times, together with the handicaps, wore as follow : Winifred (9min), Ih 24m 56s 1 Eileen, 14-footer (7min), lb, 25m 4VV ... NORTH-EAST HARBOUR BOATING CLUB. The North-east Harbour Boating Club held its first series of club races on Saturday afternoon. The weather was very favourable, but the wind was rather light for the yacht races. Results ; All-comers’ Yachts. Five starters.— Shadow (H. Nees), scr, 4h 36m Bs, 1; Agnes (J. W. Hook), 9min, 4h 59ni 455, 2. Sea*'Hawk, Betty, and Squib did not finish owing to the light winds and strong tide, these boats having great difficulty in making the buoy and Raynbirds’. ■All-comers’ 1 La unelies.
