The meeting of Linden Lodge was presided oter by P.D.P. Bro. E. M‘Faria no, in the absence of A.D. Bro. Owens, who subsequenty attended. The business having been dealt with, one candidate was admitted and initiated into the mysteries of Druidism in . a very efficient manner. Ihe balance-sheet :for the half-year was read, and adopted after some discussion pertaining to the welfare of the lodge. D. Bro. 11. Husbridgo paid an official visit, ami afterwards installed the various officers into their respective chairs, fov which' he received a hearty vote of thanks. Children’s night was fully discussed, and it was decided te hold it this year in the Kaikorai School gymnasium on the 18th iust., when a full muster of children is requested. The fortnightly "meeting of Good Intent Lodge was held in ■ the Oddfellows’ Hall on Wednesday evening, and A.D. Bid. H. M'Leod presided. D.P. Bro. Johns, P.D. Bro. Huston, P.A. Bro. Welsh (Enterprise;, and P.A. Bro; Bartlett ' (Bay) were present, and received a ' Warm welcome. - ’ Si6k";-pay amounting to £7 was passed for payment, and the half-yearly sliefet' Was read' by the secretary, alter which it was adopted without discussion. Bro. Welsh and Bro. Bartlett, who are aspira'nts for the" office of district' president, then addressed the meeting, find stated that they would, if elected, -carry out -the, duties of that office to the best .of their ability. ; An election was held under the supervision of Bros. Johns and Huston, and the votes forwarded to the grand secretary. The installation of the now officers for the ensuing six- months was ver y cicntly carried through by D.P. Bro. Davidson having served in the A.D. chair on several occasions, it was resolved to present him with a small token as a mark of esteem, it was also moved that a letter of condolence be forwarded to Bro. Timlin ■ as superintendent, and Grand Treasurer Bro. Birt installed the following; officers;—J.P.A., Bro. W. Clark; A.D., Bro. R. Wards; V.A., Bro. A. S.-Wade; conductor, Bro. R. Docherty; secretary,, Bro. H. C. Stevens; treasurer, Bro. C. Wade; minute secretary, Bro. L. Hodge; 1.G., Bro. W. Wilson; 0.G., Bro. A. Docherty; A.D. Bards—Bros. W. H. Mason And S. T. Crawford; ,V.A. Bards— Bros. K. E. Clark and' J. Lawson. The various toasts were given and responded to in an excellent manner, and Grand Secretary Bro. W. B. Steel stated; that he would present the lodge with ! a rifle, members greeting this announcement with hearty applause. Superintendent Bro. Timlin suitably replied, find thanked the officers and members' who had assisted to make the function a success. Tho lodge was closed at 8.40 p.m.,; after which the executive entertained the lodge to supper. The ordinary meeting of the above lodge was then held in - the Druids’ Hall., Port Chalmers, A.D. Bro. Wards presiding over- a good atetndahee of both juvenile and adult members. Superintendent Bro. Timlin presented the lodge with a handsome honours board, and was accorded'a hearty vote of. thanks for same. Superintendent Bro. Sunt; of Progress Juvenile Lodge, was,present; and gave a very interest-, ing . address to' tho young members. J.P.A. Bro. Clark reported on a visit to .Olive. Branch Lodge, and conveyed the' season’s greetings from that lodge to the Pride of the Oak. A.D. Bro. Wards conveyed greetings to all, and the , lodge was, closed to enable members to. indulge in shooting practice, which was thoroughly enjoyed.
