CONVENIENCE FOR WEARY MOTHERS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —After a lapse of three or four years, once again I put in an appeal for tho tired mothers who wish to retunV borne by tlio South End cars. It is now The festive season, and mothers will bo bringing their children in to shop for Christmas, and after having traversed tho town, perhaps for an hour or more, with.the little ones enjoying all tho Christmas goods, mother thinks of getting homo. Alas! on arrival at tho car stop, with baby in arms and two or three more hanging on, fiho secs the “ ladies 'only ” seat well occupied by a row of elderly or out-of-work nion. Now, I, as a mother, would he very grateful to the Dunedin City Council (all being men) if they could provide a scat for the aforesaid men, and lot tho mothers have tho “ ladies ouly” scat. It would bo much better still to have a shelter shed somewhat the same as Christchurch, in place of the monument as it is, which is anything but beautiful; to my idea, it appears just a loafers’ corner.—l am, e l Ci Tired Motueii. October 13.
