Doumcr caused a sensation in the Senate by announcing that the Minister of Justice was seeking authority to take lognl proceedings against Madame Kioto. ‘ Le Temps ’ alleges that the charges include littering cheques to the value of £1,720 when there wore insufficient funds to meet them, and forging signatures to bills of exchange.—Australian Press Association.
