GAMBLING BARGE

OUTSIDE TWELVE-MILE LIMIT FOUNDERS DURING STORM. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. VANCOUVER. December 11. A message from Los Angelos says that live people were drowned when the barge Blue Sea, which was fitted with a special gambling device, sank during a storm fifteen miles off , San Pedro. 'Jim gamblers were driven from pillar to post on the land, and several weeks ago moved aboard the luxurious barge, which was refitted from an old steamer. Anchoring beyond the twelvemile limit, they did tremendous business with launch parties from the shore. The authorities were trying to discover a method for the suppression of the gamblers when early to-day a storm came along and smashed the vessel, which sank, carrying the five owners to a watery grave.—United Service.
