The annual interprovincial bowling match for the Harraway Shield between Otago and Southland took place to-day. After a very even game the visitors curried off the honors by the small margin.of two points. This is the third year in succession in which Otago has been The day was lino and the green was in excellent playing order—fast and accurate. Occasional gusts of wind made tho green a little tricky, but otherwise the conditions were ideal.
Tho last rink to finish was that of Graham and Ferguson. Southland required 4 to win, and when the skips went up Southland were lying 2 shots. Graham’s first bowl wont wide, and Ferguson drew a second shot. With His second bowl Graham cut out the opposing skip’s bowl to be 2 up again, but Ferguson gained the second shot with his last, to give Southland one. TEST MATCHES IN AUCKLAND
AUSTRALIAN TEAMS DEFEATED
AUCKLAND, March 1. Tn the test bowling matches this afternoon the Auckland teams defeated the Victorians by 130 to 69. Auckland also defeated Australia by 103 to 57. The home players showed superiority throughout, the visitors losing every game.
