THE ‘STAR’ AND IRRIGATION
DUNSTAN FARMERS GRATEFUL The following telegram, signed by Mr L. Ryan, secretary, has been received by us;— “At a largely-attended meeting ol the Dunstan branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union the following resolution was unanimously passed;— 1 That the Dunstan branch of the New Zealand Fanners’ Union desires to place on record its appreciation of the valuable services rendered, by the ‘Evening Star ’ newspaper in the irrigation controversy; and, although some of the statements that have appeared in the paper are exaggerated if applied to this immediate district, they may be correct with regard to settlers under other irrigation schemes in Otago. The members, however, are deeply grateful to the “Star” Company for the interest that the newspaper has displayed in this important matter.’ ”
