again in limelight RAISING MONEY FOR TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT PAWNING FAMOUS JEWELS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright BERLIN, March 1. (Received March 2, at 8.25 a.m.) The ex-Kaiser’s sister is again in prominence owing to an extraordinary story published in all the Berlin newspapers that the real cause of her visit to the capital is to raise money for a transatlantic flight by pawning a part of the famous Sehaumburg-Lippo jewels. The Princess is under the spell of Zoubkoff’a enthusiasm, and is entering heart and soul into the fantastic adventure, and is ready to pledge jewels to the value of £50.000 to raise the necessary funds. The newspapers add that the Princess’s relatives are alarmed at the lavish expenditure in which she has indulged since her marriage, and are moving to have her fortune removed from her control. [A previous message stated; —M. Zoubkoif is full of ideas which are bound to result in a blaze of-publicity. Not the least of these is a non-stop transatlantic flight. He assured the ‘ Morning Post’s ’ Berlin correspondent that the plans lor it wero definite, and he would start from the Continent. He was indignant when asked if he would turn back in the event of bad weather, stating, “ It will bo a matter either of do or die.” Ho added that he had not broken relations with the ex-Kaiser, and in the event of an invitation would visit Doom.]
