NORTH-EAST HARBOR NOTES
CORNWELL GUP CREW WELCOMED [From Ouk Correspondent.] As is usual when the Ladies’ Com-j mittee of the local Ratepayers’ Association stage one of its popular dances, the hall was well filled last Saturday night. Decorations left from the previous Saturday added color, and as the floor was in excellent condition, the supper plentiful and well prepared, and Last's Orchestra in its merriest mood, everybody naturally enjoyed things immensely. The duties of M.C. were in the hands of Mr W. Riddell, who had prepared a programme oi old and new dances. Parents will do well to heed a warning in regard to the grid at the bathing shed. Last week, on two separate occasions. there were narrow escapes from fatalities through small children walking along this unattended. A slip at high tide, when there are several feet of water, would probably end disastrously. . , ] The main road from town is receiving a coating of screenings and sand, and a marked difference is noticeable to passengers in cars. As this work is to continue all the way down, motorists will now be able to take advantage of a picturesque drive down the bay with a much greater degree of comfort. . Residents who travel regularly in the buses I will also be pleased to hoar of this improvement. A social evening organised by Uio North-east Harbor Routing Club to make presentations to Messrs Riddell and Churchill was held in the hull last evening, and was attended by a largo number. Mr G.
