DRUIDISM

The Lily of the Valley Lodge held its usual meeting in the hall, Millar street, A.D. Bro. Green presiding over a good attendance. _ D.P. Bro. Walker paid an official visit, and received a hearty welcome, as also did P.A. Bro. Rusbridge (D.P.-elect) and the officers of the Ivanhoe Lodge, who came to contest for the euchre shield. After correspondence and other matters had been attended to P.G.G. Bro. Ben. Reid gave the report of the Combined Booklet Committee for 1927, and was thanked for the same. The business for the evening finished, a friendly game of euchre took place, and the result was as follows Lily 10, Ivanhoe 3. Supper was handed round, and the lodge closed shortly after 10 o’clock. The Olive Branch Juvenile Lodge held its usual meeting in the hall, George Street School, A.D. Bro. Winter presiding over a fair attendance. Deputysuperintendent Bro. Macfarlane was in charge, and was assisted by P.A. BroSmith and G.G. Bro. Watson. Correspondence and minor matters occupied tlio attention of members for some time. It was decided to accept the invitation from the Progress Lodge to work the business for them. The nomination and election of officers will take place next lodge night, when a keen contest is anticipated for the various chairs. The secretary stated that owing to pressure of business he would be unable to carry on the work for another term, and expressed his regret. The lodge closed at an early hour. The annual meeting of the Royal Arch Chapter of Otago was hold in the hall, Dowling street, R.A.D. Bro Walker presiding over a good attendance. The lodges of Nos. 1 and 2 Districts were well represented by their past officers. Correspondence and other business having been dealt with, the nomination and election of officers took place, and resulted; R.A.D., Bro. Wade; R.Y.D., Bro. J. Walker; R.Asecretary, Bro. E. Macfarlane: R.A. treasurer, Bro. Ben. Reid (re-elected); R.1.G., Bro. Isaacs; R.0.G., Bro. Smith; R.A. Bards, Bros. Reid and Stewart; R.V. Bards, Bros. Nicoll and Thompson; R.M.C., Bro. Rusbridge; auditors, Bros. Churchill and Brockie. The installation ceremony was carried out by P.G.P. Bro. Churchill, assisted by P.D.P. ijro. Faulds, who received a vote of thanks for their services. It was decided to hold the Ross-Stewart competition in the month of May and a visit to West Harbor Lodge at an early date. Bro. Thompson, oh retiring from the secretaryship, was accorded a vote of thanks. The retiring P.E.A. Druid, Bro. D. Reid, was presented with a gold trophy, suitably inscribed. He returned thanks, and the phapter closed at 10 o’clock.
