During the Boulogne-sur-Mcr race in 15)27 a British automobile crashed into the crowd, killing a gendarme and seriously injuring two spectators. In the absence of a representative of the British car who could bo sued, the dependents of the victims sued the Automobile Club. The Appeal Court decided that as the dub was holding the, race it assumed the responsibility ol all risks, and awarded tbo gendarme’s widow i 1,200 and his two children £4OO each. —A. and N.Z. and ‘Sun ’ Cable.
