FLOODS IN QUEENSLAND
HEAVY FALLS OF RAIK THE RIVERS RISING. Pres* Astociation—By Telegraph—Copyright BRISBANE, February 29. (Received February 29, at 10.5 a.m.) Heavy rain has fallen in North Queensland, and ad rivers from Cairns to Townsville are rising. Fads ranging from 9in to 13in were recorded in twenty-four hours. The people in the vicinity of the Herbert River are moving to places of safety. Parts of Innisfail are flooded, and the railway traffic ip dislocated.
