ST. CLAIR IMPROVEMENTS
MEETING Of SOCIETY A decision to make the beach carnival an annual affair was made at a meeting of. the General Committee of the St. Clair Improvement Society last night. ft was decided to hold tho carnival next year during the first week in February” and on a more elaborate scale than the recent fixture. Preparations will bo made during the year by the committee.
Mr G. A. Fenwick was elected chairman of the General Committee, Mr H. H. Henderson (City Treasurer) was appointed honorary treasurer, Mr J, W. Thomson offered his services as honorary solicitor,_ and Mr F. H. Dampen was appointed secretary. It was announced that Mr George Burton had donated a prize for the lady who sold tho most badges during the recent carnival and that it had been won by Miss Skinner. Accounts were passed for payment in connection with the carnival, and it was decided that when everything was completed a report would he published dealing with the financial results of the carnival.
Satisfaction was expressed at the response of the public, and it was made clear that the money raised would all ho expended, as was intimated beforehand, on improving tho heacb. The society, was now waiting for tho City Council to give practical support.
