LONDON MARKET REPORTS. The Bank of New Zealand lias received the following advice from its London oflicc as at the dose ol business last week : Butter, firm, Kids to JGSs per ewi. Cheese, steady, 94s to 95s per ewt. Frozen meal : 4be market lor wethers and owes is in short supply, with prices nominal. 'The reduction in the prices of lambs has improved the demand. Reed prices remain quiet and unchanged. Wethers, light (id to 7pl per lb, heavy -Rid to old per Jb; ewes, ltd to sld per lb; lambs, twos Old to ■J0(1 per lb, eights 9,'p.l to Bid per lb; lambs, fours 9.1 d to JOd per lb, seconds !)d to 9Jd per lb ; ox hinds, 4.'d to 5d per lb; ox fores, Bid to 4d per lb; cow hinds, 4d to 4’,d per lb; cow fores, 3,\d to Bid per lb, GRAIN AND PRODUCE^ Messrs Donald Held and Co., Ltd., report as under: — Oats.—The market is quiet. A few samples arc coming to hand, but merchants are not keen buyers, and prices offering arc not a I tractive enough to encourage farmers to sell. The prospects this season are that A grade will predominate—a feature that lias not occurred for a number of years. We quote: A grade 9s ]()d, B grade 9s 7d, sacks extra, on truck, country stations. Wheat —A few lines of Central grown wheat have now conic forward to the mills, and the quality is quite good. 'Harvesting is also general in the Taicri and Milton distiiels. The , ops are reported as being above flic average. Tuscan at present is very slow of sale, millers having secured ample for present requirements. Hunters and velvet, however, are in (inn demand, and late rates arc well maintained. Fowl wheat is selling at prices up to Cs Gd per bushel, sacks extra. _ Chaff.—Prime quality is in short supply, Harvesting is occupying farmers’ attention at present. Values remain at about the same mark—viz., £5 5s per ton for best quality, sacks extra, ox truck. Light and inferior varieties can only be sold when prime is not available. Tho value of these is detwm'ncd on appearance. Potatoes.—The market is bare of .supplies to-day. This can bo accounted for by tho sudden drop in values, and also by petaloos not being in a snflieiently matured stale to bo bagged and show to advantage. Tho nnriponed potatoes soon deteriorate in hags, and sales last, week were made as low as £4, ex store. To-day, however, they are worth £6, sacks in ex truck, and consignments arc required.
