LOITERING TO BET
FINE OF £25 [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, February 24, “ I am quite convinced that he was loitering for tho purposes of betting.” said Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., in announcing his decision in the case w r here Francis Robert Bennett alias “ Butler ” Bennett was charged with loitering outside the Takapuna racecourse on January 28 and 30 last for the purpose of belting. “Half of the questions put to him in court he refused to answer,” added the magistrate, “ and his evidence was not given in a satisfactory manner by any means. On one charge Bennett is fined £25.”
