TO-DAY’S GASH PRICES The shoppers’ guide gives the prices ruling in the city shops across the counter to-day. Fish prices are:—Groper, 8d per lb; kingfish, 10d per lb; red cod, 31b for 1s; ling, 3lb for Is; soles, from 4s a dozen; flounders, from 3d each; blue cod, 10d per lb; smoked blue cod, Is 3d per lb; smoked red cod, from 4d each; smoked barracouta, Is each. Meat prices are unchanged. Mutton ranges from 2d to 7|d; beef, from 3d to lid; lamb, from 7d to lid.

Vegetable prices are:—Local hothouse tomatoes, 1s 3d; hothouse tomatoes, Is; outside tomatoes, 6d; Peninsula potatoes, 101 b for Is; cabbage, 2d to 4d; cauliflowers, 4d to 8d; lettuce, 3d and fid; cucumbers (hothouse), Is to Is fid; butter beans, fid; French beans, fid; peas, 3d. Fruit is selling at:—Bananas, 8 for Is; new season's apples, 6d lb; Bon Cretion pears, fid lb; Californian lemons,, 3d each; Valencia oranges, 3 and 4 for Is; Jaffa oranges, 3 for Is; hothouse grapes, 3s lb; dessert plums, fid lb; cooking plums, 4d lb; grape fruit, fid each; dessert peaches, fid and 8d lb; cooking peaches, 4d lb; greengages, fid lb. Grocery prices are:—Eggs are 2s 2d a dozen; flour sells at 5s 8d a 251 b bag, or 10s 9d for 501 b; butter is Is fid and Is 8d lb; bran is 2s a bushel; pollard, 2s fid a bushel; sugar, 17s fid a bag and 18s fid for Brewers’ crystals.
