OTAGO CHAMPIONSHIPS The Otago croquet championship tournament was continued on the P.unga green to-day. The following aro this morning’s results; —
CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES —Semi-final.—
Airs Walling Jones and Mrs Benzoin 26 beat Mrs Manbire and Airs Dickson 20. This was the most keenly contested game in the tournament so far, the players being very evenly matched. Airs Horn and Mrs Corbett 2G beat Mrs Osborne and Airs Allen 10. Airs Corbett commenced, and made a break of 10, after which it was in-and-out play till the finish. The final will bo played to-morrow. HANDICAP SINGLES, —First Round. —
Mrs Osborne 26 bent Mrs Ferguson 10. Mrs M‘Norton 26 beat Mrs Nisbet 19. Airs Gilchrist 26" beat Airs Gerard 13. Mrs Cowper 26 beat Mrs Gascoigne 17.
Mrs Buckland 26 beat Miss Jones 19—Second Round.— Mrs Scott 26 beat Mrs M'Norton 18. G GRADE SINGLES. Mrs Vernon Smith 26 beat Mrs Moodie 15. CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES. —First Draw, First Round.— Miss Brown 26 beat Mrs Smith 9. Miss Ireland won by default from Mrs O’Donald.
