Clark (Vancouver) argued that Canada lost 20,000,000 dollars in trade as the result of treaties with Australia and other countries. He believed that in every case, except two, tho treaties had a detrimental ffect upon a favorable trade balance in Canada. In the case of Australia, the imports bad fallen over 2,000,000 dollars. Tbc exports had risen over 1,000,000, thereby decreasing tho favorable trade balance 3,500,000 dollars. In the case of New Zealand, tho exports had fallen 3,501),000 dollars, decreasing the trade balance 4,500,000 dollars.
