The following wore also present by permission of tlio meeting; Mrs E. Pago (Hawera ‘Star’), Mcssis T. L. Mills (Fcilding ‘Star’), E. W. Petterd (Auckland ‘Sun’), W. J. Blundell (‘Evening Post’), E. J. Brown (‘ Wairarapa Ago’), W. H. Bissau (‘Southland Times’), and T. R. Evcsoa (Christchurcli ‘Sun’) The report showed that, the cable service had attained a record during the past year, the number of words supplied being 901,681. This included special reports of the cricket team at Homo and tho Samoan Commission. The duplication of the Pacific cable had greatly improved transmission by that route. Much use had been made of tho beam wireless system by the cable agencies, but messages by it did not come direct to New Zealand. For nearly a -sip pm| uorpuposs-u ei(| qsed jg.U tributed the British official wireless budget to such newspapers as desired to publish it, and the regular cable service was thus to some extent supple mciited. Tho association had the option of extending its agreement with the Cable Association lor two years, and this right would he exercised. Mr Bradley, manager at Sydney, had resigned, and Mr F. H. Morgan, of the head office, had been appointed in hif place. Tho number of subscribers to i,ho association was stated as sixty-nine.

The report and balance-sheet were adopted, and tho chairman (Mr W. Cecil Leys) delivered an address on tho year’s business, which was ordered to he printed and circulated among members.

The retiring directors, Sir Georgo Fenwick and Mr G. Stanley Smith, were rc-elected. Rotorua was selected as the next place of meeting.
